Happy Canyon Vineyards

Happy Canyon Vineyard is a family owned and operated estate vineyard and boutique winery tucked away within the folds of Happy Canyon AVA in Santa Barbara County. Know for its award-winning varietal wines, Happy Canyon Vineyard sits within the hills of Piocho Ranch on the eastern most edge of the Santa Ynez Valley and is only open to visitors by appointment only.

The ranch not only includes the vineyards and heritage of the terroir, but also a pair of regulation-sized polo fields and stables where matches are played within a grape-toss of the vineyards. Join X Wine Railroad on June 19 as we visit this esteemed estate and enjoy a guided tasting with vintner and winemaker Sean D. Pitts.

Cottonwood Canyon Vineyard & Winery

Cottonwood logo

Cottonwood Canyon Vineyard & Winery has the distinction of being Santa Barbara County’s first winery to construct wine caves, subterranean structures built for the purpose of storing and aging wine. Built in the mid-1990s, the caves are burrowed beneath Cottonwood’s hillside and maintain a consistent temperature of 62 degrees Fahrenheit. Vintner and winemaker Norm Beko crafted the hand-made doors leading to the wine caves from 200-year-old redwood tree that once supported a bridge in Ohio.

Join X Wine Railroad as we taste Cottonwood Canyon’s award-winning wines and tour their iconic caves on October 17 and December 12.

Koehler Winery

Koehler logo

Planted nearly a half century ago, Koehler Winery’s vines are recognized as among the best in the Santa Ynez Valley and surrounding locales. Situated on the celebrated Foxen Canyon Wine Trail, Koehler enjoys the micro-climatic diversity provided to its 100-acre estate. The results? A superb quality of fruit resulting in bottled poetry. The estate was once owned by famed producer Doug Cramer whose work dominated the small screen in the 1970s with shows like The Love Boat, Dynasty and Wonder Woman.

Join X Wine Railroad on August 8, September 5, October 2 and November 20 as we explore the vineyard with a guided tasting of Koehler’s award-winning wines.

Dovecote Ranch and Estate Winery is dedicated to growing and crafting wines that allow the beauty and character of our land to speak through them.

Our 30-year old own-rooted vines and sandy-limestone soils produce small quantities of intensely concentrated cool-climate Rhône fruit, with the daily marine influence slowing and extending ripening for uncommon complexity and grace.

Dovecote Wines are completely farmed and made by hand with a deep respect and love for their origin. They are meant as an ode to our family’s gratitude in calling this special place home. In their creation, it is our hope that our lives contribute to their meaning, and their meaning contribute to the lives of those we share them with.
